In 2015, itBit obtained a New York State trust company charter and became the first regulated Bitcoin exchange in the U.S. As a regulated financial services company based in New York City, itBit is focused on meeting the sophisticated needs of institutions, active traders and other bitcoin trading professionals.

 

We are looking for an experienced sales director to lead our institutional sales team in New York. You will be responsible for initiating, developing and fostering new account relationships for the itBit digital currency exchange and custody services. You will also manage our internal sales process and resources. Our ideal candidate understands exchanges, trade execution, market dynamics and has a desire to work at a fast growing financial technology startup.

You will be a key player in business development, responsible for developing a strong network of institutional relationships with asset managers and financial institutions ranging from boutique to bulge bracket. The ideal candidate will have deep customer obsession and love developing a broad relationship network.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively across teams and levels, while balancing the needs and requirements of internal and external stakeholders. You must be self-directed with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key. Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales for the itBit exchange and custody platform through a variety of sales channels
  • Build, execute and manage itBit’s exchange sales process
  • Maintain itBit’s institutional sales and client management resources
  • Work with the institutional marketing team to generate new warm leads and find new opportunities to reach prospective customers
  • Provide management an understanding of lead development progress through reporting and analysis

 

Skills and Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in platform sales or the equivalent
  • Proven sales track record in the financial services sector
  • Ability to work collaboratively by improving productivity and implementing new ideas
  • Proficient in sales and customer relationship management tools
  • Understanding of Bitcoin and exchanges is a plus
